Trombini has just taken a decisive step toward cleaner logistics aligned with the environmental demands of the industry. Recently, the Distribution Center in São José dos Pinhais (PR) carried out its first shipment using a biometane-powered truck, marking the beginning of a new phase in the company’s transportation operations.

Biometane: clean energy for a more efficient logistics chain

Biometane, a renewable fuel produced from organic waste, has gained global prominence for its ability to drastically reduce CO₂ emissions. With lower environmental impact and high energy efficiency, it stands out as one of the main sustainable alternatives for the future of logistics mobility.

By using this type of vehicle, Trombini strengthens its sustainability strategy and directly contributes to reducing the environmental footprint of packaging transportation.

First operation in Brazil within the segment

The biometane-powered truck traveled to the distribution center of a major client in Cajamar (SP), becoming the first vehicle in the segment to load and transport packaging using this technology in Brazil.

This milestone represents not only innovation, but also the opening of a new operational model for the industry, with the potential to transform how cargo is transported across the country.

For Trombini, the start of operations with biometane brings a series of benefits. The most important of them is the significant reduction of CO₂ emissions into the atmosphere, reinforcing our commitment to sustainability and practices that meet the market’s new demands. This movement also strengthens Trombini’s image as an innovative company that seeks modern and responsible solutions for its logistics operations. Biometane connects us to a circular economy that opens doors to more partnerships and opportunities.

Over the next few years, we expect logistics to become increasingly sustainable, technological, and efficient. We will expand the use of clean fuels, integrate smart management tools, and improve our processes to ensure competitiveness, predictability, and an even lower environmental impact. This first transportation operation is only the beginning of a positive transformation for our entire company.”

Planned expansion to new routes

The project is currently operating in a pilot phase. After evaluating performance, operational experience, and environmental results, Trombini plans to expand the use of biometane-powered vehicles to other strategic routes, increasing the positive impact throughout the logistics chain.

This evolution reinforces the company’s commitment to sustainable solutions that combine efficiency, competitiveness, and environmental responsibility.

Strategic partnership with CTN Transportes

The initiative is being carried out in partnership with CTN Transportes, the company responsible for operating the vehicle. With more than 40 years of expertise in the market, the transportation company operates nationally and internationally, offering several solutions with special attention to environmental responsibility. The use of biometane is one of the innovations made possible in our logistics chain thanks to the technology provided by CTN.

“Our first shipment using a biometane-powered truck is taking place for Trombini, currently one of the largest recyclers of paper and corrugated cardboard scrap in Brazil. The consolidation of this strategic partnership promotes decarbonization through a highly sustainable fuel made from organic waste, delivering significant environmental benefits that can already be seen in practice on highways throughout the country.”

Marcelo Dutra – CEO of CTN Transportes

The collaboration between the companies strengthens the adoption of innovative and sustainable logistics practices, contributing to an increasingly modern supply chain aligned with global ESG trends.
